These Nachos Will Make You Fall In Love Again

Surprise date night!

Yeah, I had no idea we were going on a surprise date. But I love surprises so I was super excited!

We had just wrapped up an event celebrating the life and legacy of Reginald F. Lewis, an African American business pioneer who built a billion-dollar empire through private equity.

Oh, if you have a chance, go grab the book, “Why Should White Guys Have All the Fun?” I just purchased my copy! I heard it was a must-have!

As we were sharing our thoughts about the event and vocalizing our dreams for our community, he stopped and stared at me in my big, bold eyes.

“You know what I really love about the event?” said J in a deeply convincing way.

I just knew J was going to talk about Reginald’s ability to get into Harvard Law School without applying or the stacks of SEC filings he read to land one of the most prized deals of the 80s or even his fierce activism that made him the Barack Obama of his time.

I was wrong.

“I just want a chance to take you out on a date so we can continue our conversation and share our dreams.”

WOW. Speechless…

I was not expecting that at all!

J grabbed me by the hand as we admired the beauty of Chicago’s magnificent downtown scenery on the way to our car. He drove near Michigan Ave. and exposed me to the Signature Room located on 875 North Michigan Ave

We rode the elevator to the top floor and as I stepped off and looked around me, my eyes were immediately captivated by the view. What a sight to see at night!

I had no idea what to order but I knew I wanted something filling. It was between the Margherita pizza and duck nachos. J and I chose the duck nachos and the waiter wasn’t surprised. “This is the most popular item on the menu. Other items are frequently swapped out but the duck nachos are still here. Going strong for over 3 years!”

After taking the first bite, it was evident why the duck nachos still claims a spot on the menu.

Smooth. Subtle. Flavorful. The mix of ingredients was a perfect blend. This delicious specialty item comes with tomatoes, red onion, green onion, Marcoot Tipsy cheddar cream sauce, pesto, and tortilla chips. The Duck Nachos were so satisfying. I wasn’t sure if I could squeeze in dessert afterward!

I opted in for a creme brulee dessert but I still couldn’t keep my mind off the duck nachos.

I’m very grateful for the opportunity to taste some of the best nachos my mouth has ever gobbled while the intimate environment ignited a dialogue that seemed so movie-ish.

All I knew was that love was in the air.
