Date Night: Charley’s Steakhouse in Orlando
When Anissa King “The Queen Maker” recommends a restaurant, you have to check it out! She’s all about quality, style, and elegance and this restaurant rated high on all of those characteristics. The restaurant surpassed all expectations.
The hard part was getting there.
We made reservations to go to Charley’s Steakhouse in Orlando on a Saturday night and it seemed like everyone and their grandmama had the same plans. Traffic was insane. Well, I probably should have expected that since Charley’s is located on International Drive or “I-Drive”, the city’s main tourist strip.
But when we walked in, our eyes immediately lit up. Walking through the pathway and sneaking peaks at the food decorated on other tables as we made our way to our seats raised our appetites to new levels. I mean the foods were so aesthetically seducing that I could taste the goodness of the food just by looking at.
It was that serious.
And when we got our food, I forgot about everyone around us and enjoyed all the beautiful surprises that were in front of me.
What made this place so special is that we experienced a taste of intimacy although we were in a room full of people.
We sat at spacious booths that gave us all the privacy we needed to really connect with each other.
Our “soft and fuzzy” appreciation talk commenced over a basket of garlic-cheese butter bread and Charley’s signature house salad.
That bread…wow! It warmed my heart. J liked it so much that he asked for seconds before our entrees arrived.
The salad was refreshingly light. It washed away the strong flavors of the bread and prepared us for the big surprise.
Filet Mignon was so tender and picture perfect. It’s cooked over a Florida citrus & oak wood-burning pit and you can taste the quality in every bite. It also comes seasoned with a secret seasoning that makes you savor every moment.
North Atlantic Salmon was my entree of choice and I was pleased. I love the fact that the company mentions that their seafood is “sustainable, wild-caught & responsibly farmed”. You can tell that the company takes pride in the quality of food that they provide.
Bacon & Cheddar Mashed
And guess who ordered the Bacon & Cheddar Mashed to go with their Filet Mignon? J saw the pictures and had to have it.
When I asked him how he felt about this dish, he said “It was simply delicious. No comparison. I wish I could Uber Eats some Bacon & Cheddar Mash to Chicago”.
There you have it!
